Child support payments do not have to cripple you financially

While the law has come a long way in the last decade, family court proceedings still favor the mother. Whether its child custody or child support, fathers still have a hard time getting the settlements that they seek. It doesn’t have to be this way. By educating yourself, and perhaps engaging a family law attorney, it is possible to push the system back into your favor.
For example, child support payments can be reduced. If you believe that your child support isn’t being used for your child, you don’t need to suffer in silence. If you have lost your job, or been forced to take a lower paying job, you can reduce child support payments so that you can continue to keep a roof over your head. You just need to educate yourself. Reducing child support payments is wrong if it hurts the child. However, our mother biased system too often leaves fathers with child support payments that are unnecessarily crippling.
